I often create Facebook ad campaigns targeting people living in or recently in specific areas of New Zealand. Postcodes can be a very precise way of achieving this but finding a list of all the right postcodes is tricky. Here’s how I do it.

NZ Post used to provide PDF files on their website listing all the postcodes but these vanished a year or so ago and have been replaced by their Postcode Finder. The problem with this ‘finder’ is that it’s seemingly only intended for hunting down a postcode for an individual address. I’m seldom looking for a single postcode though, I’m after a list of all postcodes for an area or region that I want to target.

Judging by the 466 comments here I’d say I’m not the only one who wants this sort of data.

This video shows you how I find postcodes for any region or area of New Zealand. The video is 2 minutes and 43 seconds long and yes I need a haircut.

Do you know of a better way to find postcodes? Let me know in the comments below.
